St Martin's Church Kessenich
This neo-Gothic-style church is rightly called "Pearl of the MaasVallei". Its beautiful, colourful interior is truly unique. Architect Jos Tonnaer promised the population to build a gem of a village church in 1898 and he kept that promise!
The church door is always open and a quick glance at the beautiful interior is entirely optional.
However, this unique church deserves an extended visit. An expert guide will be happy to show you around and tell you all about the construction of the church and how the beautiful interior could be realised thanks to the generous donations of Willem Jozef, Baron Michiels fromKessenich.
The tour of the church can be combined with a visit to "De Berg" with the ruins of a medieval mote tower and a walk through the historical centre of Kessenich.
Duration: 1 hour (+ 1 hour in combination with a walk)
