Child-friendly walks
The municipality of Kinrooi has 2 child-friendly walks.
In nature reserve 't Vijverbroek, you can set off with 'Rijntje and his friends' on a 2.3 km discovery walk. In the Goort, Tijn the large meadow butterfly awaits you for an educational 2.5 km walk.
Rijntje and his friends
In nature reserve 't Vijverbroek (RivierPark MaasVallei), an active experience trail has been set up for the youngest nature lovers. The walk "Rijntje en zijn vrienden" is an alternation of beautiful drawings, based on the natural inhabitants of the area, and fun activities to get acquainted with nature in the RivierPark Maasvallei.
The walking route is suitable for toddlers from 2.5 years old. Especially to stimulate the feeling for nature, the route has not been made extra accessible for pushchairs...
You can start from the old customs office at the Smakerij, Venlosesteenweg 403 in Kessenich. The walking route is indicated by a fox's head on a white hexagonal plate.
Tijn the Purple Emperor
In the Goort in Kinrooi lives Tijn the great oriole butterfly. Years of nature management have ensured that many creatures have (re)found their way to De Goort.
The weathervane butterfly is the municipality's adopted species and occasionally turns up in the area. During this walk, children aged 3 to 6 can playfully learn about this butterfly's learning environment.
You can easily leave your car at the car park on Doorslagstraat. The walk with Tijn is signposted along the green walking route.

Kisserweide
Surely Kisserweide can be described as a special place. It is located next to De Zig nature reserve in Molenbeersel. In Kisserweide, people, nature and animals come together. There is a playground for young and old, you can chill out in the "chill" corner, go for a walk with a donkey as your faithful friend and even learn to ride a horse during one of the pony riding lessons. That's right: people and animals go hand in hand here while you enjoy the wonderful peace and quiet and the many regional products that manager Sofie can tell you all about.
