Together with the residents of Geistingen, Kinrooi and Molenbeersel, the Rural Guilds (Landelijke Gilden) have put together 3 beautiful walks to get to know these villages better.

Villagers take you on a tour of their villages. They selected the most beautiful, fun and interesting points. Historic buildings, beautiful views, special village characters, unique events,... in short, everything that can fascinate is included in the walks.

Geistingen is one of the five villages in Kinrooi. It is located in the north-eastern corner of Limburg, on the river Meuse. Discover the village of Molenbeersel

Village on the Border, as the lyrics of the song 'That's Molenbeersel', by Mietje Loyen and Naardje Laveaux, say. Molenbeersel, or 'Bieësel' in Maasland dialect, is indeed located in the extreme north-east of Limburg. Because the village used to be surrounded by swamps, few passers-by came here. Whenever someone did walk through the village, people would stand behind the window gawking (watching). Hence, the locals' mocking name is the 'gaaplepels'.
