KempenBroek
On the border of Belgian and Dutch Limburg and North Brabant lies the KempenBroek, recognized by UNESCO as a Human & Biosphere Area. It is a barely discovered cross-border area stretching across the municipalities of Bocholt, Bree, Kinrooi and Maaseik, Cranendonck, Weert and Nederweert. You will find hidden gems that may not immediately reveal their secrets, but are worth discovering. Surprising in their charm, secret and hidden. The area is so diverse that there is something for everyone, you will find untouched paths along mysterious marshes, stream valleys, moors and agricultural areas. You'll find as many as four quiet areas where you can still truly unwind. It then bustles with life by animals such as the beaver, the red deer, the tree frog, large grazers and lots of dragonfly species. Walkers, cyclists, horse riders, horsemen and mountain bikers can enjoy the landscape, nature and heritage such as the many windmills at their own pace via signposted routes. The area is brimming with delicious farm and regional products. Once a refuge for billygoat riders and smugglers, it is now a wonderful place to discover space and hear silence.
